Historic Preservation

We are an educational organization but are firmly committed to historic preservation. In the past, we have been privileged to raise money for, and donate to, the Brandy Station Foundation, the Kernstown Battlefield Association, the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust and other groups.

In choosing which groups and causes to support, we favor:

• Grass roots organizations staffed mostly by volunteers
• The purchase and preservation of battlefields and other significant historic sites – for us these carry a greater urgency and higher priority than erecting monuments and installing interpretive signs.
